Sit back, relax and enjoy your… movie night. Grab a snack, something to drink and you are all set for the film show. It can be a lazy day on the couch or going to the cinema evening out with friends. Any day is a good day to see a movie or at least an episode of your favourite tv series. Our team loves watching films as well. Although, today instead of simply sharing with you the top movies to watch, we have selected 6 films in which fashion plays a big role.

  1. Annie Hall – Woody Allen (1977)

The high-waisted trousers are totally in fashion now. But do you know that this trend comes from one of Woody Allen’s movies? Annie Hall. She paired high waist trousers with a tie, thus mixed femininity with a tomboyish touch.

  1. Breakfast At Tiffany’s – Blake Edwards (1961)

We know that it is obvious, but how could we miss this one? No way! The classic black Givenchy dress that Holly Golightly (Audrey Hepburn) was wearing will never disappear. The whole silhouette accessorized with gorgeous pearls around her neck and black 20s sunglasses on her eyes – this is what we call classy.

  1. Friends – David Crane, Marta Kauffman (1994)

The number of „Friends” fans is constantly growing. People love it for the sense of humor as well as fashion inspirations that can simply be spotted there. It is all about 90s vibe, but let me give you an example. Rachel Green had a wardrobe as most of us could only dream about. Denim, jackets, trainers… This is all we wear today. Do you take inspirations from Rachel?

  1. Grease – Randal Kleiser (1978)

The leather, colourful jackets, tracksuits, fifties skirts and cha cha dresses – these pieces are unforgettable and still remind us of the summer love. It seems like most of us take some inspirations from Grease. Just look at all of the pastel colours, midi skirts or bomber jackets all around the city.

  1. The Great Gatsby – Baz Luhrmann (2013)

Here come the 20s again. But this time Catherine Martin was responsible for designing the costumes. Based on the detailed descriptions that were included in the novel Catherine created pieces that not only perfectly shown the era but also the feelings and the personalities of each character.

  1. Star Wars – George Lucas (1977)

Don’t worry, we are not making fun of you and we definitely don’t want you to wear the Lord Vader’s mask or carry a colourful lightsaber. We thought it might be interesting to look at other characters and the pieces they were wearing. Certainly, Princess Leia had some beautiful costumes and look very sophisticated in every scene. However, have you ever thought about what the Jedi were wearing? I personally love all of the oversized jackets with huge hoods, plus belts around the waist.
