Late last year Pantone announced its Colour of the Year for 2022, now that we’re finally here and taking the new year by storm, many of us might be thinking of ways to incorporate the creative world’s most popular tone for the next 10 months.

For 2022 the colour of the year is Very Peri (17-3938) and the renowned Colour Institute have expressed that the tone ‘displays a spritely, joyous attitude and dynamic presence that encourages courageous creativity and imaginative expression’

Vice President Laurie Pressman stated “The Pantone Colour of the Year reflects what is taking place in our global culture, expressing what people are looking for that colour can hope to answer.”

With such a heart-warming thought behind this year’s colour, especially after the last two years we’ve all had – we’ve listed some top tips to incorporate the tone into your everyday life.

Nails

Towards the end of 2021 we saw a huge spike in the trend of simple nail art designs, using chunky graphics and bold colours.

As we head into the spring and summer months Very Peri is the colour that can weather every season. If you’re still not ready to give up your nude winter polishes just yet, why not combine the two to create a complimentary palette?

Hair

Pastel hair has been a long standing viral hair trend for many influencers and personalities online. Social feeds were packed with images of sultry silver tones, or slightly cooler lilac and lavender shades.

This year we say step things up a notch with something Very Peri inspired. There’s already been a huge influx of inspiration since Pantone’s announcement and we can’t wait to see where everyone’s creativity will take them.

We love the idea of a Very Peri/Lavender Balayage or undertones of the colour throughout a fluffy pixie cut.

Accents

Accessories are the window to exploring colour. If you’re not too daring with your wardrobe choices but are keen to get more out of your neutral comfort zone that we call black, white and grey clothing - this could be your answer.

Why not incorporate the colour into a statement pair of earrings, or add some extra pizzazz with a Very Peri toned handbag to make your outfit pop?

If bold tones are your thing, many of the F/W runway shows such as, Moschino, Saint Laurent and Undercover have all featured similar shades.

Interiors

For some people interior is where they become really daring with tones, prints and textures. If this sounds like you, then that’s always a good reason shake things up with the interiors of your home.

Start small, find foliage with similar tones and create your own dried flower arrangement. Dried flowers are another trending item that can add just that little bit of luxe to your home and on a budget. Not to mention they’re cheaper than fresh flowers and last much longer too!

Cushions can also add a nice touch to the home, or if you’re willing to upholster a piece of your furniture, we imagine this colour as the ideal headboard or chaise longue fabric.

Beauty

Another popular craze coming into 2022 with us is graphic eyeliner. Ever so chic and a great way to experiment with makeup – Very Peri inspired tones on the eyes, cheeks and lips in the summer is sure to be something we’ll see in the coming months.

Graphic eyeliner can easily be adapted to your eye shape, or you can get creative and play around. The main point is to have fun and create looks that you love.
