The iconic and legendary supermodel Kate Moss will cover the May issue of British Vogue and it will be marking the 40th time that Moss has fronted the magazine. “When you think about it, the sums are really something. In total, Kate has spent more than three years of her life on the cover of this magazine. In 2000 alone, she fronted February, May, September and December,” says Edward Enninful, editor-in-chief of British Vogue. The ultimate cover girl undoubtedly has a unique style that deserves right appreciation. LuxeDesigners team presents you the most memorable moments of Kate Moss’s style.

March 1993 This was the first time Kate Moss has covered British Vogue. She was 19 at the time and her first cover was shot by a photographer Corinne Day. After this was released, Moss was named as the face of “London Style”.

June 1993 One of the most famous and iconic images of Kate Moss shot by Corinne Day as well. It was printed in the June issue of Vogue.

1993; Less is More Kate Moss in one of the most influential outfits of hers a sheer dress made by Liza Bruce. Moss wore it at an Elite Models party with Naomi Campbell at the Hilton hotel in London.

December 1993 She was wearing a pair of silver jeans (an item that is now in many fast fashion stores worldwide) in the More Dash Than Cash shoot in the December 1993 issue.

January 1995 Moss was wearing nothing but nail polish, mascara and lipstick for the cover of January Vogue 1995 shot by Nick Knight.

February 1997 During her three-year relationship with Johnny Depp, Moss left her grunge days behind her and started to experiment with a more glamorous and vintage side of her style and sense of fashion.

January 2000 Moss became an ultimate trend setter after being seen wearing these vintage Vivienne Westwood boots from the designer’s 1981 Pirate collection. “If people had told me a girl could create a stir like this over a pair of bloody boots, I would never have believed them,” said Steven Phillips of vintage shop Rellik, who sourced the boots.

February 2001 When the supermodel changed her haircut, most of her fans and wannabees followed her steps. Here, at the British Fashion Awards, Moss was elegantly dressed and channelling Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday.

May 2003 Ever caught yourself thinking who started the whole gladiator sandals trend? That’s right you’re looking at the very picture and the woman who started it all.

September 2003 For one of the many parties in New York that Moss has attended she always stood out. For this particular party she turned to Rita Watnik at legendary LA vintage store Lily et Cie for this yellow dress. The model loved this dress so much that she recreated it for her first ever collection for Topshop.

May 2006 At the Costume Institute Gala in Manhattan, she broke the red-carpet rules and wore a pair of leather trousers.

September 2006 Moss was the one behind high-waisted jeans trend as well. After she showed up at the Topshop Unique spring/summer 2007 show in London’s Holland Park, the brand Soon after her appearance there announced a collaboration with the supermodel. “I think they [Topshop] kind of copy me sometimes,” said Moss of the partnership. “So, I said: ‘I could give you my stamp and you could get it direct.’”

We could go on and on but we all can see that she is a true style icon in everything that she does. The May issue of Vogue will be available on newsstands from April 5.
